The mouse reality show: metabolism analysis equipment at IGC
One of the first publications using metabolic cages dates from 1964, by Draper and Robbins. Since then, the systems to analyse animal metabolism have evolved to become more precise and to take in consideration animal welfare. In this presentation I will introduce the Promethion system installed in 2020 at IGC, and available to the scientific community, which allows measurement of data relevant to both metabolism and behavior. In addition I will present other equipment relevant in metabolism homeostasis studies.
